Huntress partner programme
Last verified 14 September 2026
Huntress partner programme, scored from the partner's side - MSP pricing tiers, the March 2026 reseller programme, deal registration, MDF access and portal burden.
Programme tiers and requirements
Huntress runs two distinct motions, and since March 2026 they are formally separate. The MSP motion is the original one: monthly billing in arrears, no annual commitment, and no Huntress-imposed seat minimum for MSP partners - the published 50-unit floor applies to direct and reseller purchases (MDRCost, Sep 2026). Partner pricing steps down at the 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000+ unit thresholds, and units aggregate across your whole client base, so pooled volume is the mechanic that moves your rate. In March 2026 Huntress extended the Partner Program to resellers and VARs (Huntress press release, 10 Mar 2026), adding the formal structures the MSP motion never had: defined tiers, deal registration and margin protection, with distribution added through Ingram Micro, Vertosoft, Liquid PC and QBS Software (Channel Dive, May 2026) and Giacom in the UK (Jul 2026). Third-party tracking reports Huntress has since decoupled margin and discount from tier status (VendorRadar, 2026) - worth confirming with your channel manager, because it changes what tier advancement is actually worth here.
Deal registration terms and protection window
Deal registration arrived with the reseller programme in March 2026 - "Financial Incentives & Deal Protection: Secure your hard-earned opportunities with Deal Registration and enjoy protected margins" is Huntress's own framing (huntress.com/partners/resellers). Huntress does not publish the discount percentage or window length; third-party pricing analysis puts reseller discounts at 20-30% off list layered on volume tiers (UnderDefense, Jun 2026). For the MSP motion, deal registration is largely irrelevant by design - MSP economics run on wholesale unit pricing and markup, not registered-deal uplift.
MDF availability and gating
Historically minimal - the MSP motion offered co-marketing informally rather than a structured MDF pool. Programme tracking now lists MDF co-funding at qualifying tiers of the expanded programme (VendorRadar, 2026), which fits the March 2026 formalisation. Treat MDF here as emerging and relationship-driven rather than an entitlement with a published claims process. If MDF is a primary reason you are tiering up with a vendor, Huntress is not yet where that effort pays best.
Portal and admin burden
Low, and that is the programme's defining trait. Monthly arrears billing, no commitment, unit aggregation handled automatically, and the Huntress Hub portal (launched with the 2026 expansion) carrying enablement and collateral. The admin cost of being a Huntress partner is among the lowest of any security vendor an MSP carries - which is exactly why there is also less trapped value to recover here than at vendors with heavyweight programmes.
Our scored assessment
The partner-side read: Huntress is a high-margin, low-admin vendor whose programme asks little and hides little. The value is in the unit economics and aggregation thresholds, not in programme extraction - there is no large unclaimed MDF pool or complex rebate stack to recover. Watch one thing: the 2026 reseller expansion means VARs with deal registration now operate in adjacent territory to MSPs. Huntress says the motions are deliberately separated to avoid channel crowding (ChannelE2E, May 2026). If you sell into accounts that could also buy through a VAR at up to 30% off list, registration discipline on the reseller side of the fence starts to matter to you too.
